Moooooooooooot 2017

Hello everyone,

switching to English today as that's the language I used most the last couple of days.

I wanted to tell you guys about the experience being on an international scout camp with 5000 people from 96 different countries.

First, we were split up in patrol (small groups) of about 8 to 10 people from mostly different countries (sometimes it can happen that you have one person from your country with you..). Then after opening ceremony (this time in Reykjavik) you try to find everyone of your patrol and then we went on busses to our expedition centers.

The expedition centers were spread all over Iceland, I've been to Þingvellir, a wonderful place where two tectonic plates are touching and the first parliament (called Alþingi) was built. A beautiful place to stay for 4 days, doing some great activities including hiking and swimming.

After those 4 days we got on busses again and went to Ulfljotsvatn, a scout center in Iceland, where all came together for having a couple of nice days.
Program here was divided in ´´villages´´, and every group is supposed to do those walk in activities. of course you´re free to choose if and what you want to do or not do.

Tomorrow will be the last day with the closing ceremony and everyone starts leaving. Too bad that the great weather we had the last days won´t last (at least that´s what we were told..).

So how is it to be on a camp with 5000 people? You´re never lonely. You always find someone you can chat with. And of course you can find some new friends from all over the world or from your own county.

So making friends, trying to understand different people, cultures and religions is one of the most important things about this camps. And if there´s a party once in a while it´s a wonderful opportunity to make some new friends ;)

And sometimes you simply meet some visitors on the campsite ;)

Morgen geht's los, auf nach Island!!!!
Ein weiteres Internationales Lager, das auf meiner Bucket List stand - seit vier Jahren - ist nun endlich zum greifen nahe!
Knapp 5000 Pfadfinder werden erwartet und bevölkern zum Teil jetzt schon die kleine Insel oben im Norden.

Zunächst wird es nach Reykjavik zur Opening Ceremony gehen, dann lerne ich endlich die anderen Leute aus meinem Patrol kennen und es geht in die Expedition Centers. Mit meinem Patrol werde ich in Thingvellir sein, einem wunderschöne Nationalpark.
Nach einigen Tagen gehts dann auf den großen Lagerplatz, wo es nochmal verschiedenliche Activities geben wird, bis es dann am 3.8. auch schon wieder vorbei ist..

Ich bin auf jeden Fall gespannt auf die neuen Erfahrungen, die neuen (und alten) Freunde, die ich treffen werde und einfach wahnsinnig schöne Natur als nettes Beiwerk zu haben :D

Zukunftpläne on the road

Hallo Welt!

Ich habe grandiose Neuigkeiten! Zum einen ist das neue Jahr 2017 angebrochen und das bedeutet, dass ich nicht mehr allzu weit entfernt bin von meinen nächsten Reisezielen!

Zum einen habe ich vor kurzem meinen Flug nach Island zum Rover Moot 2017 gebucht und freue mich gerade wahnsinnig auf dieses Lager und die Leute!
Für diejenigen, die damit nichts anfangen können: Rover Moot ist ein Internationales Pfadfinderlager für Pfadfinder zwischen 18 und 25 Jahren. Das letzte war vor vier Jahren in Kanada (ich war natürlich dabei!) und dieses Jahr findet es in Island statt.

Zum anderen habe ich auch meine Flüge back to Australia gebucht, dieses Mal allerdings auch mit Erweiterung nach Neuseeland! Es ist also offiziell. Australien die Zweite beginnt am 13. September und ab dem 10. Oktober kommt als "Neuentdeckung" auch noch Neuseeland dazu!
Eines der Sachen, die mich am meisten daran Freuen, ist die Tatsache, dass ich Neuseeland mit meinem Freund teilen kann. Für die, die mich bzw. ihn nicht kennen - das ist ein riesen Schritt für ihn! Unsere gemeinsamen Reisen waren bisher auf Europa begrenzt, Barcelona im Sommer war schon was ganz anderen besonderes und jetzt fliegt er für mich einmal um die Welt - wie toll ist das denn?

Ich werde natürlich auch über meine Reisevorbereitungen posten und freue mich, wenn meine kleine Weltentdeckungsreise, die mein Leben darstellt, auch gelesen wird von dem ein oder anderem.
